Project context

The project upgraded aging chilled-water equipment serving the facility while maintaining cooling availability through construction as much as practicable. The scope included replacement of existing chillers, installation of new heat-rejection and free-cooling equipment, and modernization of the building and plant controls.

The work was coordinated with the broader chilled-water system serving the site to ensure the new equipment integrated with existing plant operations.

My work

I reviewed the existing controls architecture and operating sequences and worked with facilities staff and the controls contractor to support development of revised system sequences. My focus was on aligning the new controls with actual operating needs and improving the reliability and effectiveness of plant operation following the equipment upgrade.
